Gerry Duffy to speak at St. Macartan’s College Parents Evening

Described by CEO of the Irish Sports Council and Olympic Marathon Silver Medallist John Treacy as “an inspiration and a leader”, endurance athlete and motivational speaker Gerry Duffy will speak at the annual St. Macartan’s College Parents Evening which will take place in the College theatre on Monday October 22nd at 7.00 p.m.

From running 32 marathons in 32 days to completing and winning the 2011 UK Deca Enduroman Ironman distance challenge, an event dubbed ‘the toughest 10 day endurance challenge in the world’, Gerry Duffy loves to challenge himself as well as conventional wisdom and is keen on leading by example. Companies who have invited Gerry to address their workforces and clients include Facebook, Google, AXA, United Drug, Standard Life and Coca Cola. His presentations are packed with strategies and tactics to help any individual achieve whatever goal they wish.

Formerly a man whose biggest fear was public speaking, Gerry’s work has brought him throughout Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe. Leading multinationals, small and medium size businesses and a diverse range of organisations have all employed Gerry’s services to address their teams.

Gerry will speak to parents and students about motivation, goal setting and strategies for helping one achieve their goals. Gerry’s presentation will be followed by the St. Macartan’s College Parents Association AGM.
