UCD Entrance Scholars are first year UCD students recognised for their academic achievements and who have achieved a minimum of 540 points in their Leaving Certificate. Three past pupils of St. Macartan’s College were named as entrance scholars at their chosen university. Micheal O’Mordha, son of Pádraig and Barbara a past pupil of St. Mary’s BNS Monaghan town as well as Emlyn McGee son of Frank and Cathleen and a past pupil of St. Patricks NS Coracrin and Conor McCooey son of Michael and Margaret and a past pupil of St. Mary’s NS Theemilehouse were presented with their respective awards by the president of UCD Dr. Hugh Brady at a ceremony in O’Reilly Hall UCD. Both Mícheal and Emlyn have joined the UCD College of Health Sciences while Conor has joined the College of Engineering and Architecture.
