Our Guidance Counsellors, Mr. Dalton and Mr. Reilly are always available to assist students in their educational and career choices. In Junior Cycle this is usually in the area of subject choice whereas at Senior Cycle this guidance programme expands and seeks to provide a structured response to the educational, vocational and personal/social needs of the students at all stages of their education in St. Macartan’s College.

The three key areas in which the counsellors have a major role and responsibility are:

• Personal Counselling
• Career Counselling
• Educational Counselling.

Both Guidance Counsellors are available to work with students on a one-to-one basis in addressing matters which may be of a more sensitive nature when required.
